Course Description
Situated just a five-minute walk from the centre of the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, Magdalene Fields is the first or last golf course in England depending on whether you are travelling north or south.
Teeing it up on the first hole of this parkland layout, you're just yards from the town's famous Elizabethan Walls and, by the time you reach the signature par-3 eighth hole, which is played over a cove, you have a wonderful view of the cliffs leading up the coast into Scotland.
After the turn, there are equally stunning views of the Northumberland coast with Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island clearly in view. The most dangerous hole on the course is the par-4 16th - "The Destroyer" - which features a blind drive and is only yards away from the shelter made famous in a painting by L.S. Lowry.
The spacious clubhouse has a friendly atmosphere and individuals and parties alike are welcome all-year round.
