Course Description

Welcome to The Musselburgh Golf Club. Situated within Scotland’s iconic Golf Coast the club has proudly held British Open qualifying 5 times. Our championship golf course stretches out to 6,725yards from our tournament tees but with 4 teeing options, it can be enjoyed by golfers of all levels. If your society is looking to combine a fine day's golf within easy reach of Scotland's capital, look no further than the classy championship course at The Musselburgh. Designed by James Braid in 1938, The Musselburgh is a quality test of golf, emphasised in the fact that it was the Open Championship regional qualifying course in Scotland until 2010 and final qualifying course for Muirfield in 2013. Built around a bend of the River Esk, it has mostly flat and generous tree-lined fairways, while the Craigie Burn meanders over some holes, providing players with many different options. After a promising start with two good par-4s and a fun, short par-3, the 528-yard par-5 fourth requires a fierce tee shot but, in truth, a lot of the holes at the course do with only two of the par-4s measuring less than 400 yards. The clubhouse has a relaxed atmosphere and is open seven days a week. There is in-house catering serving food everyday. Societies welcome every day including Saturdays, except when the course is used for members competitions.
