Course Description

Visitors can expect a warm welcome at this members club at the start of East Lothian's Golf Coast, arguably the finest stretch of golfing coastline in Scotland.. The course, designed by Harry S Colt, is a unique combination of parkland and links - there are raised greens, clean approaches and guarded par 3s; although not a long course, it is designed to reward the strategic player. It is a good test for any golfer with 8 par 4s for the men measuring over 400 yards and, for ladies, the course is par 73 and the 5 longest holes are par 5s. The course has improved notably in recent years, thanks to innovative practice and excellent use of resources. Fairways have been opened up by the removal of sea-buckthorn and the putting surfaces play well, but there are still cunning bunkers, trees and rough to avoid along the way. There are many strong holes at Longniddry, including the short 314-yard par four fifth, named ''Cadell's Neuk''. This hole requires accuracy off the tee and a neat chip to the elevated green. All in all, a great course - Longniddry offers some of the best golf available in Scotland.
