Course Description

Situated between the South Downs National Park and the city of Portsmouth, Waterlooville Golf Club was founded in 1907 and is renowned throughout the region for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Designed by Sir Henry Cotton, the course is long, measuring just shy of 6,400 yards off the yellows and features five par-5s. In order to card a good round, you must stay out of the mature trees which line most fairways, while ponds and a stream are another hazard. However, there are some great holes with none better than the par-5 13th. At 556 yards, players must carry a pond off the tee, a stream off the second shot, while the third shot needs an accurate approach to a tight green. If you can move on to the 14th tee without a dropped shot, you have done well. If you do, the 15th, 16th and 17th holes offer a great chance to repair some damage before finishing on the 533-yard par-5 18th.

The club has invested significantly in the course, with improved drainage to increase year-round playability, more efficient irrigation to increase quality of playing surfaces, and redesigned bunkering to improve the quality and aesthetics. In 2016 the club was recognised as a Championship Venue by England Golf after hosting the English Women's County Finals, and again in 2024.
